On July 27th, the Media Roundtable for the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference (WICV 2026) was held in Beijing. Relevant officials and expert representatives from the Department of Equipment Manufacturing Industries I, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT); the Science and Technology Department, Ministry of Transport (MOT); the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology; the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Equipment Industry Development Center (EIDC); the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT); the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM); the China Society of Automotive Engineers (China-SAE); China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. (CATARC), and other organizations briefed the media on relevant matters and answered questions from reporters.
WICV 2026, jointly hosted by the MIIT, the MOT, and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, is scheduled to take place from October 21st to 23rd, 2026, at the Beiren Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center, Beijing E-Town. With the theme “Pooling Wisdom, Boundless Connectivity: Advancing Steadily Towards a New Era of Automated Driving”, this year’s conference will focus on key junctures in industrial development and major development issues. It will feature three plenary meetings, three special sessions, six thematic forums, and N concurrent side events and interactive activities. By building an efficient communication platform and fostering consensus among stakeholders, this year’s conference will release a series of the latest results in industrial development, comprehensively showcasing the practical progress and development blueprint for the new era of automated driving. The ultimate goal is to promote the open, mutually beneficial, and high-quality development of the global ICV industry.
